We find in the Sutta Pitaka three formulae of instructions describing when and how a bhikkhu chooses a secluded spot and sits there for meditation. The formula A may be followed by B or C. A and C may appear alone, and B does so in only one case, it is otherwise always preceded by A. Contents: A. Vivittā Senāsanā - Secluded Dwellings B. Piṇḍapāta-paṭikkanto - Coming back from Piṇḍapāta C. Araññagato - Having gone to the Forest |
