11. N·āhaṃ, bhikkhave, aññaṃ eka·dhammam·pi samanupassāmi yena an·uppanno vā kāma·c·chando uppajjati uppanno vā kāma·c·chando bhiyyo·bhāvāya vepullāya saṃvattati yatha·y·idaṃ, bhikkhave, subha·nimittaṃ. Subha·nimittaṃ, bhikkhave, a·yoniso manasi karoto an·uppanno c·eva kāma·c·chando uppajjati uppanno ca kāma·c·chando bhiyyo·bhāvāya vepullāya saṃvattatī ti.

11. I do not see, bhikkhus, any other thing by which non-arisen sense desire arises and arisen sense desire multiplies and proliferates as much as, bhikkhus, an agreeable object. For one who attends inappropriately to an agreeable object, bhikkhus, non-arisen sense desire arises and it leads to the multiplication and proliferation of arisen sense desire.

12. N·āhaṃ, bhikkhave, aññaṃ eka·dhammam·pi samanupassāmi yena an·uppanno vā byāpādo uppajjati uppanno vā byāpādo bhiyyo·bhāvāya vepullāya saṃvattati yatha·y·idaṃ, bhikkhave, paṭigha·nimittaṃ. Paṭigha·nimittaṃ, bhikkhave, a·yoniso manasi karoto an·uppanno c·eva byāpādo uppajjati uppanno ca byāpādo bhiyyo·bhāvāya vepullāya saṃvattatī ti.

12. I do not see, bhikkhus, any other thing by which non-arisen ill-will arises and arisen ill-will multiplies and proliferates as much as, bhikkhus, a repulsive object. For one who attends inappropriately to a repulsive object, bhikkhus, non-arisen ill-will arises and it leads to the multiplication and proliferation of arisen ill-will.

N·āhaṃ, bhikkhave, aññaṃ eka·dhammam·pi samanupassāmi yena an·uppannaṃ vā thina·middhaṃ uppajjati uppannaṃ vā thina·middhaṃ bhiyyo·bhāvāya vepullāya saṃvattati yatha·y·idaṃ, bhikkhave, arati tandī vijambhikā bhattasammado cetaso ca līnattaṃ. Līna·cittassa, bhikkhave, an·uppanna·ñc·eva thina·middhaṃ uppajjati uppanna·ñca thina·middhaṃ bhiyyo·bhāvāya vepullāya saṃvattatī ti.

13. I do not see, bhikkhus, any other thing by which non-arisen dullness and drowsiness arises and arisen dullness and drowsiness multiplies and proliferates as much as, bhikkhus, discontent, yawning, drowsiness after a meal, and sluggishness of the mind. For one whose mind is sluggish, bhikkhus, non-arisen dullness and drowsiness arises and it leads to the multiplication and proliferation of arisen dullness and drowsiness.

N·āhaṃ, bhikkhave, aññaṃ eka·dhammam·pi samanupassāmi yena an·uppannaṃ vā uddhacca·kukkuccaṃ uppajjati uppannaṃ vā uddhacca·kukkuccaṃ bhiyyo·bhāvāya vepullāya saṃvattati yatha·y·idaṃ, bhikkhave, cetaso a·vūpasamo. A·vūpasanta·cittassa, bhikkhave, an·uppanna·ñc·eva uddhacca·kukkuccaṃ uppajjati uppanna·ñca uddhacca·kukkuccaṃ bhiyyo·bhāvāya vepullāya saṃvattatī ti.

14. I do not see, bhikkhus, any other thing by which non-arisen restlessness and worry arises and arisen restlessness and worry multiplies and proliferates as much as, bhikkhus, non-calmness of the mind. For one whose mind is not calm, bhikkhus, non-arisen restlessness and worry arise and it leads to the multiplication and proliferation of arisen restlessness and worry.

N·āhaṃ, bhikkhave, aññaṃ eka·dhammam·pi samanupassāmi yena an·uppannā vā vicikicchā uppajjati uppannā vā vicikicchā bhiyyo·bhāvāya vepullāya saṃvattati yatha·y·idaṃ, bhikkhave, a·yoniso·manasikāro. A·yoniso, bhikkhave, manasi karoto an·uppannā c·eva vicikicchā uppajjati uppannā ca vicikicchā bhiyyo·bhāvāya vepullāya saṃvattatī ti.

15. I do not see, bhikkhus, any other thing by which non-arisen doubt arises and arisen doubt multiplies and proliferates as much as, bhikkhus, inappropriate attention. For one who attends inappropriately, bhikkhus, non-arisen doubt arises and it leads to the multiplication and proliferation of arisen doubt.

16. N·āhaṃ, bhikkhave, aññaṃ eka·dhammam·pi samanupassāmi yena an·uppanno vā kāma·c·chando n·uppajjati uppanno vā kāma·c·chando pahīyati yatha·y·idaṃ, bhikkhave, asubha·nimittaṃ. Asubha·nimittaṃ, bhikkhave, yoniso manasi karoto an·uppanno c·eva kāma·c·chando n·uppajjati uppanno ca kāma·c·chando pahīyatī ti.

16. I do not see, bhikkhus, any other thing by which non-arisen sense desire does not arise and arisen sense desire is abandoned as much as, bhikkhus, a loathsome object. For one who attends appropriately to a loathsome object, bhikkhus, non-arisen sense desire does not arise and arisen sense desire is abandoned.

17. N·āhaṃ, bhikkhave, aññaṃ eka·dhammam·pi samanupassāmi yena an·uppanno vā byāpādo n·uppajjati uppanno vā byāpādo pahīyati yatha·y·idaṃ, bhikkhave, mettā ceto·vimutti. Mettaṃ, bhikkhave, ceto·vimuttiṃ yoniso manasi karoto an·uppanno c·eva byāpādo n·uppajjati uppanno ca byāpādo pahīyatī ti.

17. I do not see, bhikkhus, any other thing by which non-arisen ill-will does not arise and arisen ill-will is abandoned as much as, bhikkhus, the liberation of the mind through loving-kindness. For one who attends appropriately to the liberation of the mind through loving-kindness, bhikkhus, non-arisen ill-will does not arise and arisen ill-will is abandoned.

N·āhaṃ, bhikkhave, aññaṃ eka·dhammam·pi samanupassāmi yena an·uppannaṃ vā thina·middhaṃ n·uppajjati uppannaṃ vā thina·middhaṃ pahīyati yatha·y·idaṃ, bhikkhave, ārambha·dhātu nikkama·dhātu parakkama·dhātu. Āraddha·vīriyassa, bhikkhave, an·uppanna·ñc·eva thina·middhaṃ n·uppajjati uppanna·ñca thina·middhaṃ pahīyatī ti.

18. I do not see, bhikkhus, any other thing by which non-arisen dullness and drowsiness do not arise and arisen dullness and drowsiness are abandoned as much as, bhikkhus, effort, exertion and endeavour. For one of resolved effort, bhikkhus, non-arisen dullness and drowsiness does not arise and arisen dullness and drowsiness are abandoned.

19. N·āhaṃ, bhikkhave, aññaṃ eka·dhammam·pi samanupassāmi yena an·uppannaṃ vā uddhacca·kukkuccaṃ n·uppajjati uppannaṃ vā uddhacca·kukkuccaṃ pahīyati yatha·y·idaṃ, bhikkhave, cetaso vūpasamo. Vūpasanta·cittassa, bhikkhave, an·uppanna·ñc·eva uddhacca·kukkuccaṃ n·uppajjati uppanna·ñca uddhacca·kukkuccaṃ pahīyatī ti.

19. I do not see, bhikkhus, any other thing by which non-arisen restlessness and worry do not arise and arisen restless and worry are abandoned as much as, bhikkhus, calmness of the mind. For one who has a calm mind, bhikkhus, non-arisen restlessness and worry does not arise and arisen restless and worry are abandoned.

20. I do not see, bhikkhus, any other thing that produces the not arising of non-arisen doubt does not arise and arisen doubt is abandoned as much as, bhikkhus, appropriate attention. For one who attends appropriately, bhikkhus, non-arisen doubt does not arise and arisen doubt is abandoned.
